On their first few months with Attain

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I am passionate about improvement, collaboration, and data in action to tangibly impact patient care and have had a successful career in healthcare analytics, working in a variety of informatic and performance-analytic roles within a large acute NHS Trust, and now as a senior analyst with Attain.

I live in Hampshire on the south coast with my wife and young children. Alongside data and technology, I have three other areas of passion: running, amateur cosmological/astronomical science and family genealogical research. I also love talking Tolkien!

How have your first few months been at Attain?

My experience with Attain has so far been great. I have already been involved with a particularly interesting project which spans multiple hospitals over a large Integrated Care System with an impressive team of colleagues; this has been both challenging and fascinating. I have already learnt a lot and have been able to pass on some of my own knowledge.

What attracted you to Attain?

Attain has three passions that resonate deeply with me:

  1. A people first organisation. It is remarkable to see an organisation filled with staff who truly live out the values they promote. This people-focused behaviour really unlocks the best in staff.
  2. A passion for the NHS and patient care. By working with Attain you are able to get a much wider, big picture/outside perspective of what is taking place across the NHS and its regions. This gives a unique perspective to allow Attain to provide high-quality, effective change where a Trust may not get the time or space.
  3. Championing expertise. Attain is passionate in ensuring its staff are looked after and are given the opportunity to thrive, learn and develop themselves, the organisation, and also the NHS.

What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?

The varied and interesting work, the high value Attain puts on the wellbeing of its staff, and the support and drive to work alongside the NHS. What is also fantastic is due to working with extremely experienced colleagues, you are able to tap into and learn from that wealth of knowledge.

What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?

Many years of improvement to my own analytical skills, but also to see tangible change take place in the NHS due to the high-quality work of Attain. I’m excited to be a part of that and to see the work we do as an organisation positively impact the healthcare of the nation’s communities.
