Attain was commissioned by East Kent Health & Care Partnership (HCP) to support them to develop an Estates & Infrastructure Strategy for the Place – including all health and care providers.

East Kent HCP partners are working together to deliver improved and more localised care to the population of East Kent. There is an ambition to work together to develop a single approach to the management of the estate.

What We did

  • Supported the development of the national and local context, and the wider ICB objectives for estate and infrastructure.

  • Established the estates and infrastructure baseline across multiple organisations.

  • Supported the development of a vision for estate and infrastructure management between partners.

  • Established what the requirements were for estate in the future – what clinical models will it need to deliver? What do our individual geographies require and how are they different?

  • Described an Estates and Infrastructure Strategy and Plan for how East Kent HCP partners could work together to deliver their ambitions.

Outcomes

East Kent Health & Care Partnership have an Estates and Infrastructure Strategy that they are now delivering that includes:

  • An approach to optimising efficiency and productivity.

  • Sustainability plans.

  • Principles of sharing estate – including mutual aid and hosting.

  • Journey to net carbon zero.

  • Enabling estate management through technology.

  • Prioritisation matrix for how future estate decisions are made.

  • Established much greater communication and transparency between partners (e.g. NHS and Councils).

I would like to thank you for all your help and support with producing the strategy. You have been fantastic! Really approachable, responsive, and open to ideas. - East Kent HCP Programme Manager
