When Attain was founded in 2011, our vision was to build a values-based team dedicated to supporting the NHS to fundamentally change how care is delivered. Thanks to our fantastic people and customers, we have delivered world-class transformation for patients and staff across the country, working with over 250 NHS organisations covering a total population of around 42 million people. As a values-based organisation, each year we canvass our staff to nominate a charity for the company to support through fundraising and awareness campaigns. The nominations made by our people are then put to a vote to select our charity partner for the year.
Last year, Attain was very proud to partner with Samaritans. Through events such as a Christmas raffle, ‘Walk 70 Miles in March, ‘Snowdon by Sunrise’, and a company quiz over the course of the year, we surpassed our target by 190% and raised over £3,800. Although our fundraising year for Samaritans has officially ended, our staff continue to fundraise this year by supporting our colleague Sarah Beaumont who is running the 2025 London Marathon for Samaritans. We are so proud to support Sarah in her first full marathon and hope to help her smash her fundraising goal.
In December 2024, we selected our 2025 charity partner and are delighted to now be supporting Sophie’s Legacy. This amazing charity was set up in 2022 in memory of a remarkable young girl called Sophie who wanted to see improvements for children and their parents when in hospital. Sophie’s mum, Charlotte, created ‘Sophie’s Legacy’ to enact that wish. The charity supports children and families in many different ways, such as
- offering families essential supplies such as toiletries and nutritious food,
- assisting with transport costs,
- providing emotional support for parents, and
- organising birthday parties on the wards to bring a little joy to tough situations,
with the aim of making the hospital experience for children and their families a little easier during what is an immensely stressful time. Crucially, the charity also campaigns for GP’s, nurses, and other health professionals to be trained in childhood cancer, as well as for increased funding into childhood cancer research.
Attain will be undertaking various activities to raise funds and awareness for Sophie’s Legacy across 2025, in addition to supporting any of our staff to who wish to volunteer for the charity. Please keep an eye on our social media platforms where we will share updates on the fundraising and activities we are supporting.
