On their first 30 days with Attain
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I started my career as a perioperative nurse in London, and that clinical foundation has shaped everything I’ve done since. Over the years, I moved into improvement, leadership, clinical governance, and transformation, eventually working at NHS England. Throughout all of it, the thread that connected everything was a genuine passion for making healthcare better for patients and the people who deliver it.
Outside of work, I’m a keen reader, and happily married with a young son who keeps me very busy!
How have your first 30 days been at Attain?
Honestly, better than I could have hoped. I’ve had the privilege of joining a project with an integrated team from day one, working closely alongside both NHS and Attain colleagues in a way that has been genuinely rewarding. It’s the kind of collaborative environment where you feel the impact of the work immediately, and that matters a lot to me. 30 days in and I already feel at home.
What attracted you to Attain?
Simply put: the values. A friend who worked at Attain recommended it to me, and from the very first conversation I knew this was something different to what I’d imagined a consultancy to be. The kindness, the genuine care for people, and the deep commitment to supporting the NHS and patients; it made the transition from the NHS feel far less daunting than I’d expected. I felt supported throughout recruitment in a way that told me a lot about the culture before I’d even started.
What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?
That the values aren’t just written on a wall somewhere, they’re lived every day in how people treat each other and approach their work. Coming from the NHS, I understood what a values-driven organisation could look like at its best. Finding that same energy in Attain was a genuine and wonderful surprise.
What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?
Impact, above everything else. I want to know that the work I do genuinely makes a difference to the NHS and to patients, that’s been my north star throughout my career. I’m excited to grow with Attain, to keep learning, and to play my part in supporting the NHS to deliver better care for the people who need it most.
