Tell us a little bit about yourself
My professional background has been largely based in acute NHS providers where I have worked extensively in cancer services and, most recently, in rolling out emerging genomic testing for cancer treatment and risk stratification. I completed post-graduate training in Public Health which has fostered a keen interest in prevention and prediction of ill health, in addition to the operational delivery of high quality and compassionate care. I believe how we bring prevention and health promotion into every contact is crucial for the modern health service. Outside of work I enjoy running, cycling, and climbing mountains with my family and dogs in tow.
How have your first 30 days been at Attain?
Starting with Attain has been a genuinely friendly and supportive experience, with an excellent and comprehensive onboarding process. I’ve been fortunate to be embedded into an integrated team of NHS and Attain colleagues from the outset. Making an impact is vital for me for both professional and personal satisfaction, and I’ve felt privileged to get straight into some exciting project work that can deliver true operational value.
What attracted you to Attain?
I had worked with Attain previously as an Associate, so I knew some of the people and have experienced the professional, highly competent yet warm and compassionate approach to the work they undertake. I was particularly attracted to their approach and commitment to providing value for money and impactful change and getting fully involved with delivering client ambitions from concept to completion.
What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?
The organisational values and culture are genuinely embodied across everyone I’ve interacted with. This is a welcoming team who sincerely want to support you personally and in your work. I feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by colleagues who are generous with their time and expertise to help me settle in quickly and feel part of the team.
What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?
Having spent much of my career working in cancer service delivery, I am excited by the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and experience across other areas of healthcare. I thrive on the challenge of solving complex problems and gain great satisfaction from seeing initiatives through from concept to successful delivery. The prospect of combining this with a positive, collaborative team culture and the opportunity to learn from specialists across a diverse range of projects is both motivating and rewarding.
