Attain was commissioned by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust to provide strategic and programme management support to strengthen the Trust’s financial recovery and long-term sustainability.
Working collaboratively with the executive, finance and operational teams, Attain helped refine the 24/25 Financial Improvement Plan, identify new opportunities for 25/26, and embed stronger programme governance and PMO capability to ensure delivery assurance across all efficiency schemes. The following activities were delivered:
- Identified and assessed financial opportunities for 2025/26, informed by benchmarking, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement
- Led the development of PMO governance and gateway processes to improve rigour
- Provided leadership and hands-on support to strengthen delivery capability and organisational confidence
- Designed an efficiency tracker incorporating scheme complexity, scale, ownership and deliverability metrics
- Established a Trust Efficiency Oversight Group to monitor delivery of savings and progress new schemes
This work has provided the Trust with a clear, evidence-based plan for financial improvement, greater assurance on delivery, and a sustainable framework for managing future efficiencies.
