Objectives
Attain was commissioned by three acute Trusts to carry out a sustainability review of Cardiology, Urology and Radiology services.
As part of this, we:
- Reviewed the clinical, operational and financial sustainability issues impacting those specialties
- Worked with clinical, operational and executive teams to develop of a new model of care
Addressed the pressures and offered a sustainable system-wide solution for the service
What we did
We provided the following support:
- Applied the Acute Services Review framework to each specialty from a clinical, analytical, workforce, commercial and contractual perspective and prepared a roadmap for implementation
Developed a case for change outlining the clinical, financial and commercial issues
Identified local, regional and national priorities and best practice
Reviewed clinical pathways, evaluated trust and system level performance, capacity & demand and issues and risks
Facilitated workshops and patient focus groups
Our impact
Our results included;
- We presented business cases and implementation roadmaps to three boards, for each specialty outlining the current state findings, case for change, new clinical models, and associated financial, workforce, commercial and contractual models
Received broad and deep commitment from clinicians to fully implement proposals
Developed new system-focussed clinical models of care
Achieved high levels of clinical and operational engagement
