Mark Carmichael

Executive Chairman

Mark Carmichael

Mark has worked exclusively with the NHS for 20 years to transform care, drive efficiency and improve patient outcomes. He has worked across health and care systems to deliver major changes in service models, performance, provider collaboration and value for money. Mark leads Attain’s delivery in the East of England and the North-West and he was Attain’s Managing Director from our formation in January 2011 until June 2024.

Gareth Hartley

Gareth Hartley

Gareth has worked exclusively in healthcare consultancy since 2009; combining strategic,
commercial, and programme management skills to deliver improved patient outcomes and
better value for money. Gareth, a Fellow Chartered Accountant, has experience across all
care settings, working with systems, providers, and places to support strategy development
through to implementation and operational delivery.

Martin Wilson

Martin Wilson

Martin, a co-founder of Attain, directs a range of projects including development of a large ICS, focusing on implementing integrated care. His portfolio includes strategic workforce modelling and planning for ICS and place-based care in London. With 40 years’ experience and 20 years supporting the NHS, Martin excels in strategy development, operational planning, and service redesign.

Struan Coad

Struan Coad

Struan, a founding member of Attain, has worked across health, social care, and the public sector. He leads Attain’s support for technology enabled change and workforce, focusing on change management to ensure the NHS can make the most of digital innovation. His track record includes delivering complex programme across all care settings to improve care for the local population and support the wellbeing of the workforce.

Chris Walker

Chris, a Board Director, has been with Attain since its inception in 2011. He oversees delivery in the NEY Region. With a focus on collaboration and integration, he is passionate about improving services. Chris’ approach is built on Attain’s values, ensuring our delivery is realistic while also the best value for money.

Helen Pyecroft

As a Director at Attain, Helen excels in supporting organisations with delivering impact for population through strategic planning, structural design, and governance enhancements. She leads large-scale transformations, currently aiding clients to deliver sustained change and efficiencies through collaborative models. With over 20 years’ consultancy experience, Helen drives impactful outcomes across various sectors.

Chris Spark

With 20 years’ experience in health and care, Chris specialises in programme management and delivering integrated solutions. He drives transformation through collaboration and achieving tangible results. Chris has deep experience of delivering change in out of hospital services and is passionate about delivering better outcomes in mental health, learning disabilities, and autism.

Sophia Malik

Sophia Malik

Sophia is a Director at Attain who has extensive experience in leading teams to deliver complex programmes, including leadership of an ICB establishment programme, organisational reviews and a series of service improvement programmes. Sophia prides herself on building strong working relationships and has a real passion for delivering improvements for the benefit of local communities.

Ian Triplow

Ian Triplow

Ian, a director at Attain, has 10 years’ experience in the NHS across operational and programme management, with previous experience in the private sector. Since joining Attain in 2016, he has successfully led multiple system-wide improvement programmes in integration and spearheaded a successful Community Diagnostic Centre programme delivering 10 new centres.
