Marianne Donnelly on her first 30 days at Attain

Back to 30 days

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I have been qualified as a registered nurse for 25 years.  I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with significant experience in urgent and primary care. This experience ranges from long term condition management to sexual health.  Before joining Attain I worked within urgent care, managing and improving clinical services and most recently concentrating on workforce development. (As an ANP, this still keeps me in touch with providing clinical care to patients on the ground.)

How have your first 30 days been at Attain?

The first 30 days have gone very quickly and reflecting back I feel like I’ve have covered a lot of ground metaphorically and physically.  The application, recruitment and induction process has been really professional. I had an in-depth, well structured induction which included having the opportunity to work alongside new colleagues in their work environment and some enhanced training to develop my existing skills. It’s been a big learning curve but it’s also satisfying to know how relevant and valuable my previous experience is going to be!

What attracted you to Attain?

I didn’t have any personal knowledge of Attain so it was the service transformation post advertised that attracted me. It prompted me to look at the website and find out a bit more. I was impressed by the company ethos and the kind of work involved. I am keen to improve services for patients within the NHS and with Attain’s core values, this was a great choice.

What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?

It has to be the people!  Attain have such a dedicated team who are passionate about their jobs and so willing to support each other.  It is an extremely positive working environment.  I have been made to feel so very welcome and valued by everyone.  There is so much knowledge and expertise within the company that there is always someone to help.

What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?

I hope my future with Attain continues to improve services for patients. I hope to continue on my learning path, improve my knowledge on the complexities within service transformation and change, within a knowledgeable team.
