Kirklees Council and Clinical Commissioning Groups, partnered with Attain, to develop and deliver an innovative programme that meets Kirklees Council statutory obligations to provide the Healthy Child Programme and Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
This programme, locally referred to as ‘Thriving Kirklees’, is the only one in the country that delivers all of its emotional health and wellbeing services as one pathway.
The joint work has been selected as Finalists in two categories of this year’s GO Public Procurement Awards 2019. “Project of the year award (above-£20m value) – Local Government and Consortia” and the “Innovation of the Year Award – Taking the procurement function forward: Local Government, Central Government and Other Organisations”.
The programme maximises the benefits of system wide integration, working collaboratively and thus simplifying joint working between the Public, Private, Third Sector and communities. It promotes a shared ambition to achieve mutually desired outcomes, in response to decreasing resources and increasing demand.
Services were transformed to meet the needs of citizens by removing the need for unnecessary referrals and transfer of support to reduce waiting unduly for the support they require. This ensured that financial resources were being utilised appropriately and unnecessary demands weren’t being generated within the programme.
We look forward to attending the awards ceremony later this month. Good luck to all finalists!
