The NHS is a complex organism. Care systems, care economies, multiple organisations, thousands of employees…and millions of patients. So how can transformation be managed effectively?
Attain helps CCGs, providers, and local authorities break the cycle of long design, planning and governance, by identifying areas where they can start to get moving and make an impact. Our long-standing expertise builds confidence and trust in our work, delivering lasting change.
A long-term commitment to the NHS
We are all committed to the future of the NHS and want to play a part in its sustainability. Everyone you meet has their own perspective of the challenges and ideas about how it could be improved. Many of us have dreams and ambitions of ‘if I could just…’ or ‘if only I was free to do this’ or ‘if only the legislation didn’t stop us from sharing this’
In a recent interview, Nathan Askew, Director of Nursing at Chelsea & Westminster Foundation Trust speaks about the work that we delivered with them and their partners in North West London to design a new model of care for the provision of specialised paediatric services.
In a mixed team, we balanced rigorous analysis of the data, with deep clinical engagement and operational expertise, to help them understand the short-term opportunities and a long-term vision. They have broken the cycle by starting to roll out part of the shared model by collaborating with their partners to deliver shared paediatric critical care. This small step is releasing bed capacity, building skill sets and most significantly – providing more seamless care to the children in North West London. It is also strengthening clinical relationships and setting the stage for the next step. Our in-house clinical colleagues understand the system, but also have objectivity and subject knowledge to support client clinical teams to identify blockers, build consensus for transformation and foster a culture of delivery.
Time, energy and investment is the key
Attain works with clients like these to identify clear steps to fulfil the most ambitious objectives by breaking the cycle of waiting for the big savings, the big shift in policy or the big event.
By starting with a small building block that gets you, your team and the NHS moving, we create a platform for measurable success.
